In April, First Lady Michelle Obama sent a letter to iVillage to explain how Americans can serve our nation’s heroes. In the course of the letter, she announced the launch of Joining Forces — a national campaign to honor and support our military families.
This week, Jill Biden and I are launching an unprecedented national campaign to support and honor our incredible military families. We call it Joining Forces. It’s about all of us working together to give back to these extraordinary military families who sacrifice so much every day so that we can live in freedom and security.
… Dr. Biden and I have made it our mission to make sure that our whole nation supports them — and that’s why we’re “joining forces.” Joining Forces is a challenge to all of us not simply to say “thank you” to our military families, but to mobilize and take action — to make a real commitment to support and engage these families.

This is exactly why Horses4Heroes was created four years ago!
We are building a nationwide network of family-friendly, kid-friendly horseback riding facilities and equine-related service providers that support our mission to make horseback riding affordable for, and accessible to the families of the heroes in our communities including, but not limited to: military personnel (active duty and veterans), law enforcement officers, firefighters/EMTs, critical care and hospice nurses, special needs school teachers and families who are struggling with serious, chronic illnesses and/or disabilities.
In recognition of our support, we received the following letter from Dr. Biden.
